Yes. Each piece is handcrafted in small batches in the artist’s studio. Variations and slight imperfections are part of the human touch — the evidence that your piece was made by hand, not by a machine.

Yes — every piece begins with authentic scientific imagery (microscopy, radiology, medical ephemera or vintage anatomical illustrations). Some pieces use Dakota’s own original microscope photography; others use either upcycled materials or archival sources that are public-domain or licensed for creative use.

Most pieces incorporate professional-grade resin, upcycled preserved paper, archival-quality printed materials and a metallic base.

Depending on the piece, the metallic elements consist of hypoallergenic metals such as sterling silver, stainless steel or antique silver plated brass. Everything we make is always nickel-free and lead-free.

Every effort is made to reduce waste in the creation, packaging and shipping process.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve clarity and color. Keep in the provided box or pouch when not in use.

Items can be hand-washed with standard soap and water and polished with a soft cloth. Do not use strong cleaners or astringents.

​Coasters are heat-resistant to 200 degrees. Please avoid direct contact with substances that may exceed this temperature. Do not microwave or place items in the dishwasher.

A product care card and polishing cloth are included with all items.

Always. Each order is packaged with care — delicate wrapping, poetic insert cards, and small satin bags or pouches based on item size. Our packages are gift-ready! If you’re sending a gift directly to the recipient, let us know at checkout and you can add a personal note.

All pieces are made in the NYC-area and ship either from New York or New Jersey.
We currently ship worldwide. Shipping times vary by region, and each order includes tracking once dispatched.

Orders within the domestic United States typically take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 10-14 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
